An introduction
We’ve always enjoyed living a country lifestyle. We grew up gardening, raising livestock and chasing fireflies through the woods at night. When my husband and I married, it was only natural for us to raise our children the same way.
Life has had its twists and turns over the years and it’s been an adventure. We’ve found ourselves living in brand new areas and starting fresh once, twice, three times. Now here we are, back in the same woods of which we began. Familiar territory, but a new journey.
I invite you to follow along as we take an old worn house, on overgrown acres, and make it our home. I invite you to garden with us and to work alongside me in the kitchen. I invite you to join us as we glean from the wisdom of those who came before us, and pass on that wisdom to those who will be here long after we’re gone. Most importantly, I invite you to slow down, invest your time wisely and to hold tight to the moments that matter most.
Welcome to An Old House and Some Land.
So then, whether you eat or drink or whatever you do, do it all to the glory of God. 1 Corinthians 10:31
From saving an old house and planting a garden to preserving food and foraging wild blackberries in the woods, each post is a chapter of our ongoing adventure. But this blog isn’t just about what we do or how we live. It’s a space for sharing knowledge, inspiring others, and bringing together a community of like-minded people who share a passion for a simpler, more traditional way of life.
I invite you to join me here as we grow together in our pursuit of a more grounded and purposeful life.
Blessings, Jennifer
